Prologue

Most Americans know by now something has fundamentally changed the

U.S. banking system and our economy. That something is a black hole of

government spending and debt that can have but one outcome. While we

may not know the details, large numbers of people know the end result and

aren’t waiting around to see what happens or for help to arrive. People are

actively now preparing for the inevitable bankruptcy of the United States

government and collapse of the U.S. dollar.

The purpose of this report is to explain and give you information that can

literally make the difference between life and death. You already know we

are going to go through hard times…You already know you must be wise in

how you spend your money…And you already know you are going to have

to make plans on how you make your income both before and after the

collapse…The question is…Will you and how will you?

I did not write this report as some “Doomsday Prepper,” locked and loaded

for whatever comes our way. Rather I wrote it as a Christian concerned for

God’s children, one who has studied the subject and sees heartache ahead.

My admonition is that after reading this report, you discuss it with your

family and Church and pray for guidance.

Few Understand How Big and Bad it really is

Few people in the U.S. understand how our monetary system works (Thank

the government run school system for that). And the few people in political

power who do understand it are keeping quiet: Not because of the trillions of

dollars our country owes, but because of what is going to happen BECAUSE

of it. They are scared to death.

The greatest life-changing event of our lifetime, a total collapse of our

monetary system, will happen sometime this decade. Words like “hardship,”

“struggle,” and “calamity” do not come close to describing what we as a

nation of individuals and families will experience.

It matters not which political party is in power. I sincerely hope you

understand this. The matter is out of their hands to prevent. The U.S.

Congress may slow the progress of the inevitable default and bankruptcy of

the federal government, but no one can stop it from happening.

America is in deep, deep trouble. The federal government is over $16

TRILLION dollars in debt. This debt is so huge; it is almost equal to the

debt of all other nations on Earth…Combined! Here’s the thing: The debt is

more than can ever be repaid without destroying our standard of living.

Whatever savings and underlying net worth millions of people may claim

will be systematically destroyed in the process. No one is telling us this.

How is this possible?

What we call money today is an abomination unto God. The monetary

system we use now (fiat currency) was conceived in iniquity and born in sin

(Proverbs 20:10). Time was when our paper dollars were redeemable in real

money (silver and gold), but no more. What we call a dollar today is no

more than a deception, a broken promise.

U.S. Government

Compare the paper dollars below. The paper dollar on the left is a Silver

Certificate; the paper dollar on the right is a Federal Reserve Note. Our U.S.

monetary system was once on a gold and silver standard. Our paper dollars

were Certificates that could be redeemed for actual silver or gold coins in

any U.S. bank. The assurance people had that their paper dollars could be

redeemed in silver or gold was stated on the face of each Certificate. For

example the $1 Silver Certificate below reads: “This Certifies That There Is

On Deposit In The Treasury of The United States of America One Dollar In

Silver Payable To The Bearer On Demand”

As long as people could redeem their silver and gold certificates for actual

silver and gold, they knew their paper dollars were safe and sound. That is

no longer the case today. The U.S. monetary system works now like a Ponzi

Scheme. Today instead of Silver Certificates we carry around I.O.U’s.

Take a U.S. dollar out from your wallet and look at it. See where it says

“Federal Reserve Note?” That word, “Note,” means a debt exists against the

dollar bill you are holding, and every other dollar in existence. In other

words, U.S. dollars are nothing more than monetized Debt Notes…Empty

IOU’s.

The government abandoned our silver and gold standard required by the

U.S. Constitution. Our monetary system is now based on debt, not silver or

gold. This means the government must continually borrow and therefore

print and circulate ever more Federal Reserve Notes in order to function, or

else the entire system will collapse. Each new dollar Note printed has one

dollar of debt plus interest of more Debt Notes accrued against it. We are

borrowing Debt Notes into existence (from a private corporation called The

Federal Reserve Bank), and paying for them with more Debt Notes that do

not exist yet. There is nothing of substance or value backing these notes.

We have to print and borrow ever more Debt Notes (paper currency) in

order to pay off (roll-over) the interest on existing debt. This means even if

the government confiscated every Debt Note dollar ever printed or created

by a keystroke, there still would not be enough dollars in existence to pay off all debt.

Our national debt is now so huge; the government is no longer paying down

the principal owed. Even with low interest rates it’s all the government can

do just to pay the interest owed to keep America afloat. When interest rates

once again rise, as they will, making future interest payments on the debt

will eventually become impossible. There will not be enough dollars to both

pay the debt and run the government.

Debt based monetary systems work until eventually there is so much paper

currency in circulation the paper is rendered worthless. As the sheer quantity

of these dollars find their way into the economy, they lose purchasing power

causing everything we buy to go up in price (product inflation).

This explains why, for instance, a box of Kellogg’s Corn

Flakes that cost .99 cents back in 1980 costs $3.99 today.

Same product, there simply are more dollars (debt notes)

competing for the same box of cereal which increases its

price. Inflation is insidious in that it robs us of our ability to

maintain our standard of living.

The U.S. Treasury must now borrow $4.1 BILLION dollars every DAY just

to pay the interest on our $16 trillion dollar debt. It does this by selling

Bonds to investors. Of course creating and borrowing more Debt Notes just

adds to the debt. It also explains why our government must always raise our

taxes to keep functioning. This CANNOT continue for much longer.

As the national debt grows, paying the interest due will soon become

impossible, as the payment will become greater than the entire national

budget. Either that or investors will stop buying Bonds long before the

interest rate earned from those Bonds no longer keeps up with inflation.

Eventually, the rate of inflation will increase so rapidly, no one will want

U.S. dollars: Not investors, business people, consumers…No one!

Coupled with the economic depression we are already in, America cannot

last, as we know it for much longer. Consider where we are:

•An average of 23 manufacturing facilities a day closed down in the

United States during 2010. Overall more than 56,000 manufacturing

facilities have shut down since 2001.

•As the economy unwinds, more and more job prospects disappear.

Right now for every job opening in America, there are 5.5

unemployed Americans.

•67 million Americans (that’s 1 of every 5) receive some kind of

financial aid directly from the federal government to the tune of 2.6

trillion dollars annually (that’s more money than the federal

government takes in from taxes for the entire year).

•Over 46 million people are receiving food stamps (23% more than

just 3 years ago). 1 of every 4 homeowners is under water with their

mortgage, due to home values falling.

We are no longer the land of the free…We’re the land of the afraid!

And for good reason…

Things are going to get much worse for the economy as a whole, and for life

in America as we know it. The debt crisis will get far nastier than we can

imagine, and go on far longer than we can imagine before there’s any hope

of a real recovery.

It is now a mathematical certainty that at some

point in the near future, the U.S. government will

have no choice but to default on its debt. It will

default either from printing ever more paper

dollars to pay its debt (de facto default), or

through a declaration of default (bankruptcy)

before hyperinflation hits. It is a matter of a law

of physics no politician can fix. This is what few politicians talk about.

The likely scenario is the U.S. Government will forestall default by printing

ever more paper dollars (reducing the dollar to worthlessness). We’re not

quite there yet. But when it happens things are really going to get nasty. And

that’s when we go from having the biggest debt in the history of the

world…to filing the biggest bankruptcy in the history of the world.

How this affects you…

At some point before our country defaults on its debt, our economy will be

effectively ruined. As the dollar loses value on a daily basis from inflation, it

will become increasingly difficult to find or buy even the most basic of

necessities. Shortages of all kinds will appear. Companies will struggle to

stay in business with a dollar that buys less every day. Many of our favorite

food items and food staples are likely to disappear from store shelves.

Imagine paying $30 for a loaf of bread or $50 for gallon of milk…that is if

you can find them! This is where we are headed.

The vast majority of Americans are food dependent, with less than a week’s

worth of food in their home. We are so attuned to running to the grocery

store every few days and eating out several times a week, we never give

thought to “what if…” Stop and think! The U.S. Government will not be able

to feed 310 million people in a full-blown emergency with something as big

as a dollar default? People who think so or think there will always be food

available are like horses in line at a glue factory.

There are numerous examples over the last hundred years alone where

governments debased their fiat currencies in a de facto default on debt

which grew beyond their ability to pay if off through tax revenues and

spending cuts. Here are but a few of those examples:

Angola (1991-1999) Greece (1944-1953)

Austria (1921-1922) Hungary (1922-1924, 1944-1946)

Argentina (1975-1991, 2000-2001) Mexico (2004)

Belarus (1994-2002) Nicaragua (1987-1990)

Bolivia (1984-1986) Peru (1984-1990)

Brazil (1986-1994) Poland (1922-1924, 1990-1993)

Chile (1971-1973) Russia (1921-1922, 1992-1994)

China (1939-1950) Turkey (1990s)

Ecuador (2000) Yugoslavia (1989-1994)

Germany (1923-1924, 1945-1948) Zimbabwe (1999 –present)

But it will get much, much worse!

Every dollar-based paper asset you claim

ownership to (Bank Savings and Checking

Accounts, 401Ks, IRA’s, Pensions, Bonds,

Stocks, Mutual Funds, Annuities, etc.), is

now declining in purchasing power thanks to

inflation. Wall Street will eventually fall

into chaos before default is declared, as the

government tries to prevent it with evergrowing

intervention. When default is

finally declared, all dollar-based paper assets

like those listed above will be worthless. In

other words…saving your wealth in dollars and dollar-based paper assets is

like making your bed in a burning house. I don’t know how to state this

more strongly. Sure, dollars spend today, but for how much longer?

Here’s how default will likely happen and what it means to you

You will wake up one morning, make coffee and turn the

radio on to get the morning news. The Secretary of the U.S.

Treasury is speaking. At first it isn’t clear what has

happened, but then it hits you: The U.S. Government was

forced to default and declare bankruptcy overnight. Your

first reaction is to think so what, but then: What you hear

next is one of those jaw-dropping moments of

disbelief…the dollars in your wallet or purse are now

officially worthless! All stocks, bonds, IRA’s, and

401’s…Gone!

Try as it may, the federal government in default was no longer able to sell

bonds to float its debt. Buyers who bought government debt (Bonds) in the

past refuse to buy more. The reason is simple. They have no more faith in

the dollar. The moment this happens (the moment government can no longer

fund its debt), faith in the dollar and our government vanishes everywhere

and America is bankrupt.

Bankruptcy means whatever buying power the U.S. Dollar had previously

before default is now totally gone. It went from being worth less, to being

worthless!

But this is only the beginning

This is where the down and ugly of this whole mess starts showing us its

face. It’s here that many people cannot cope with the truth. They cannot

fathom life without the paper dollar or credit they have used all their life.

They cannot comprehend what you are about to read below.

Understanding the implications of the U.S. dollar being declared worthless,

here’s a rundown of what to expect following our nation’s debt default and

bankruptcy.

1. Businesses will no longer accept paper dollars, checks or credit cards.

2. Essential services (electricity/water/gas/refuge) will fail.

3. Transportation of goods and services will be interrupted.

4. Communication devices (cell phones, radio, TV) will fail.

5. There will be massive gasoline, food and water shortages.

6. All banks, credit unions and ATM’s will shutdown.

7. Retail store and business closures will be rampant.

8. Police and emergency medical services will be greatly curtailed.

Think what each of the above

situations mean, and how they will

affect you, your job and household.

Mind you, infrastructure shutdowns

will not all happen at once. But

without a way to pay employees, to

re-supply store shelves, and pay the

light bill, how long do you think our

nation’s commerce can keep doors

open and running?

How long these conditions go on depends on how soon a new monetary

system can be created to replace the old one. Banks will remain closed until

a new system is in place and are given a date to open. How many weeks or

months this may take is anybody’s guess.

One thing is sure. Daily life will be drastically changed until a new monetary

system can be implemented and the banking system is restored. It will take

many months more to restore community infrastructure and essential

services. Commerce will take years to rebuild. We’re in for a wild ride.

Be Prepared…Not Scared!

I dislike writing about these things. They are so foreign to our traditions and

way of life, but this is the time we live in. It does not matter if you are a

liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican, Christian or atheist. Few of

us will be spared the hardships caused by the coming default of our country.

I wish I could tell you how long we have before the bottom falls out, I don’t

know, and neither does anyone else. Realistically, we may have two years,

five years at most. But given the financial condition of European countries

and our own, the financial world could unravel literally overnight anytime,

and with it the U.S. dollar.

The intent of this report is not to scare you but to stir you to take action, to

get you to PREPARE for the upheaval that lies ahead. If there is any one

thing you take away from reading this report, it is this…It still remains within

your means to prepare and even prosper both ahead of and during the

hardships ahead…If you are willing and take time to act. Do not allow the

feeling of discomfort over what you have read to keep you from taking

action.

Everything I am telling you can be summed up in one word…PREPARE!

There is no need to run to the hills and dig a cave. There are many more

practical things you can do right where you are. But you need to be wise in

the things you do and how you do them.

Get Part II of this Report

Part II of this report focuses on three, specific, absolutely must have,

essentials you need in hand ahead of a post U.S. default. These are things

our grandparents had which we do not have. They are essential to your

survival.

There is no charge for Part II, but you must request it. Why am I doing it this

way? Because some readers will choose to ignore this report and go on with

their lives as usual. These people are whistling Dixie past the graveyard

hoping default never happens. That’s their choice. I want to know whom I

am being helpful to: Those who are ready to commit to preparation. It’s not

difficult or expensive to do. You just need a commitment to begin.

There are biblical examples and principals that support preparation for hard

times. May you be blessed with wisdom from God.

The bottom line is this. The time to prepare for a hurricane to hit your shore is not when you see it coming visually. That’s too late. You’ll suffer injury and loss if you wait till you have to see it with your own eyes. There is still time to prepare when you listen to the signals from those who have done their homework and have reliable ways of detecting and measuring the danger that’s ahead. The coming economic collapse is far more destructive and long lasting that a hurricane. If you wait much longer to take the actions needed to care for those you love you will be in great danger of personal hurt. When Joseph (in Genesis) was prepared by God to prepare for a way to save his family, the family was unprepared. They totally depended on little brother Joseph to assure their survival for seven long years of famine and beyond. If you have a “Joseph heart” to respond to the call of God to intercede for others the time for action is now. Faith without corresponding actions is a lifeless phony faith. Determine to stop procrastinating and do whatever it takes to prepare for the challenges that face a generation that is mostly unprepared for them.

The Bible teaches followers of Jesus Christ to ask God for wisdom when you realize that you lack it, and trust that He will give it to you.

How do you think that wisdom is found? Can we really believe that there is wisdom for the way forward from where we are right now?

When the seemingly overwhelming crises of the world are swirling around us, how can we find a well-lighted path into some sort of sustainable future that we all want?

Joshua chapter one sets the stage after 40 years in the wilderness, facing one of the most challenging times of change that any people has ever faced. They were facing constant conflict and stress. In Joshua 24 Joshua summarizes that “we will serve the Lord.”

At the start of the years long project to conquer the Promised Land God says in Joshua 1:8: “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.”

If we are honest, we all want success. When discouragement is all around us, God promised Joshua success when he kept his eyes on God and His Word. Could it be that God’s wisdom for those who are asking for it can come from a message like this that is delivered in a timely season?

Tom Morris put together a list of seven conditions for success that are strikingly universal and basic to practically any situation. These keys serve to lay a foundation for the most deeply satisfying and sustainable successes in life. We should apply them to every challenge, opportunity, endeavor, or relationship.

The 7 Cs of Success

(1) A clear CONCEPTION of what we want, a vivid vision, a goal clearly imagined.

(2) A strong CONFIDENCE that we can attain that goal.

(3) A focused CONCENTRATION on what it takes to reach the goal.

(4) A stubborn CONSISTENCY in pursuing our vision.

(5) An emotional COMMITMENT to the importance of what we’re doing.

(6) A good CHARACTER to guide us and keep us on a proper course.

(7) A CAPACITY TO ENJOY the process along the way.

There are no doubt other key concepts associated with success, but they can almost all be listed as components of one or more of these 7. These 7 Cs give us a logical and comprehensive framework for success.

Let’s take a moment to look at each concept. Start with our need for a goal or set of goals.

(1) A clear CONCEPTION of what we want, a vivid vision, a goal clearly imagined.

No matter where we live or what we do or who we are… every facet of our lives that anticipates successful achievement of something needs us to think as clearly as possible what we want to accomplish and what we’d like to see happen.

It’s not enough to say “I want a job.” We must target what kind of job and where we want to work.

I’m reminded of the advice given to Alice in Wonderland (by the Cheshire cat – wasn’t it?). If you don’t know where you’re going it doesn’t matter which way you go. You’ll surely get there. But it may not be where you’d like to get.

True success starts with an inner vision. Sure, it’s incomplete at first. But the vision for your goal will grow once you define it. Just as Adam was given a defined goal to care for and develop the Garden of Eden, our world (as we find it) is just the raw material for what we can make of it. God created us to use our creative energies to bring unique expression to the world He made. It’s part of the condition of man to be made in the “image” of God – to be creative. It’s part of His nature and our nature to be creative, artistic and expressive. When we have clear goals in our minds and express them with our words and actions (like writing them down) then we start to develop structure for our actions.

So what do you want? Get creative and think about where you want to go and what you want to be.

Did you know that if you choose to delight yourself in your Creator, He expressly promises to actually GIVE you the desires of your heart? That’s in Psalm 37.

“Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.”

Is it possible that if we make a habit of pleasing and worshipping Him, He actually arranges things for us to think about goals and desires that originate from the heart of God Himself? Isn’t it interesting to know the origin of the word “desire”? Think of it. “Sire” means “to father.” “De” means “of”… so “Desire” means “of the Father.” Could it be that our ability for creative expression — in dreaming about and planning goals — is a direct reflection of being created in the image of God? If you are delighting yourself in the Lord He is promising to impart those heart desires and help you see them fulfilled.

[If you are interested in participating in our Legacy for Life Business/Ministry Team to help important ministry causes like this program to broaden their impact… and be well rewarded for your effort… I’m looking for a motivated self-starter who likes to empower people and lead others to discover solutions to many of life’s challenges in today’s world. Call me to arrange a brief phone conversation at (866) 867-9943. Let’s see if you might find a place on our leadership team. This will open up new horizons for you as you see some things I’ll show you online.]

(2) A strong CONFIDENCE that we can attain the goal.

Jesus tells us in Luke 12:6-7 that “you are of more value than many sparrows.”

If confidence is in any way related to faith, then how do we develop stronger confidence… stronger faith? The Bible says that faith comes by hearing the word. Let’s face it, the more we listen to and think about whatever we choose, the more knowledge about it we gain and the more confidence or faith we have in those words and concepts. What’s our inside attitude? It is absolutely the foundational key to outside results.

Are you launching a new enterprise? Do you desire to seek a new direction? You need upfront faith in what you’re doing. Do whatever it takes to learn about your goal to have the faith, the confidence and the reassurance that you will arrive at your desired destination. If we lack experience we may have to work hard to generate a confident attitude. Is it worth it? You bet it is. Get the coaching and the education with someone who has been there before you. In the process, you will raise your prospects for success. If you want confidence … then develop competence. Let you natural curiosity urge you to dig deep in your study of the things that will help you achieve success in reaching your goal. Will this guarantee success? No… but your faith will compel you to take the risk anyway. And what if you fail? You’re just one step closer to success. You must fail. It’s part of the pathway to success. You will learn much and become stronger in the process.

(3) A focused CONCENTRATION on what it takes to reach the goal.

The Bible tells us to do whatever we do with all our heart as a direct service to God and not just ourselves or other people. Aim to please God no matter what you do… it’s the best thing you can do to assure success in reaching your goal. Concentrate on your goal with focus. When children are raised to succeed at little goals and then expand to bigger goals, they will be prepared to dream about even bigger goals as they grow up. It’s important to understand that big dreams can lead to big disappointments if we don’t learn how to chart our way forward.

If we concentrate on the “what it takes” part of our vision, then our success at anything challenging will come from planning our path and then putting that plan into action.

It’s a well known Biblical principle that what you concentrate on (what you think about continually) is what you tend to become. “As a man thinks, so is he.” If you concentrate your thought and devote a lot of your energy into a new direction, two things will happen. Your goal will become clearer and your mind will find new pathways of seeing things that you might have missed before.

New ideas and insights will come to your mind. Providence has a way of guiding you to discover things you never noticed before and that relate to the goal you’ve set. Focused concentration allows you to develop plans naturally. Then you can act and adjust along the way. Even a flawed plan can get you started and lead you to where you can discover a better plan.

(4) A stubborn CONSISTENCY in pursuing our vision.

I discovered that the word consistency comes from two Greek roots — a verb meaning “to stand” and a particle meaning “together.” Consistency is all about standing together.

Now just think about it. Ask yourself: “Do my actions stand together with my words?”

Go deeper. Ask: “Do my reactions and emotions stand together with my deepest beliefs and values?” This should cause some determination to rise up within our soul. If it doesn’t then your heart isn’t in your vision in the first place.

But then the challenge gets a little harder. Ask “Do the people I work with stand together?” You may have to deliberately find new associations who support the vision you’re pursuing. If you want success, it’s important to hang around people who are supportive to your success. This is what consistency is all about. It’s a matter of unifying your energy and efforts in a single direction. Inconsistency defuses power. Consistency moves us toward our goals.

(5) An emotional COMMITMENT to the importance of what we’re doing.

Ever think about the difference between “interested” and “committed?” Who would you rather have on your team? Why should anyone bother pursuing something of value without commitment to the pursuit? Passion is the core of extraordinary success. It’s a key to overcoming difficulties, seizing opportunities, and getting other people excited about your projects.

(6) A good CHARACTER to guide us and keep us on a proper course.

Character inspires trust. Nothing is more attractive to other people than trustworthiness, especially in a world where there is so much mistrust and suspicion. And trust is necessary for people to work together well. Good character is required for great collaboration. Today’s world shows us that innovative partnerships are key to successful achievements. Collaboration and synergy are the new ‘currency’ of great accomplishments. Excellence in moral character is foundational for working well together more than ever before.

And good character does a lot more than just promote trust. It truly has an effect on each person’s own inner sense of freedom and insight. Bad character not only corrupts, it blinds. A person whose perspective has been deeply skewed by selfishness or dishonesty cannot understand what’s true as perceptively as someone whose sensibilities are ethical and full of positive moral character. Good character makes sustainable success more likely.

(7) A CAPACITY TO ENJOY the process along the way.

I’ve found that if we don’t enjoy the journey we probably can’t fully appreciate the destination. The more you can enjoy the process of what you’re doing, the more likely you’ll have better results in the end. It’s easier to set creative goals when you truly enjoy the process of your everyday activities toward those goals. Confidence will come more naturally. Your concentration can seem effortless. Consistency will not be a battle. The emotional commitment will flow. And issues of character will not be as difficult to manage. A capacity to enjoy the process is inseparably part of every other factor of success.

These conditions of success are all intimately connected. They make up a fittingly designed framework that allows us to discover the most fulfilling forms of achievement in everything we do. They will help us to leave a legacy for the next generation that will truly be honored. They will energize and direct us to worthy accomplishments with a satisfaction that can be best characterized by the approval of our Maker when He tells us, “well done faithful servant.”

Why should we ever settle for anything less?

First Pilgrim Thanksgiving

A thankful heart is a content heart. More than that, I give thanks to God for all the sacrifices of those who have gone before me and even protect me now to make possible all that we experience in our lives (my life) today.

Would you like to know some of the The History and Legacy of Thanksgiving?

The article about the history and legacy of Thanksgiving Day is introduced and linked just below the following comments… I hope you like it… dp

If we want to be the kind of people who are characterized by thankfulness, then we must make sure that we focus on it, and not just on Thanksgiving Day, but all through the year.

Here are a few key thoughts you can use to become more thankful:

Time. Set aside time every day to be quiet and to reflect. We live in the fastest-paced time ever. From the moment we awake to the moment we collapse into bed, we tend to go full speed and rarely slow down. Let’s pause at a private time of day to free our minds from the tyranny of the urgent.

Thought. Deliberately think of the many blessings that you have. Living in a consumer culture, how often do we reflect on what we already have? Take some time each today and everyday to think of one or two things you have that you typically take for granted. Then take a moment to give thanks to God for them. Maybe try writing a list of those things each day and share the whole list with a loved one at the end of the week.

Generosity. Be generous toward someone with less. Repent of any envy you have toward someone with more. Envy breeds jealousy rather than contentment. How can we break that cycle? Be generous to someone less fortunate than you. Offer to help someone do something that will help them prosper in the future like applying for a job or learning a new skill. Go volunteer at a food bank – do it during the year, not just on a holiday. Do you think that will remind you of how good you really have it?

Ask. Ask a friend: “What are you thankful for?” It might be amazing to hear the answers. What a special bond of friendship could develop with your friend when you focus on such a simple question.

Acknowledge. Lastly, tell at least someone you love: “I’m thankful you are in my life.” Let’s face it… We rarely take time to express to those close to us what their life means to us. Why not take a moment today to write them a note? On Thanksgiving Day, why not put your hand on their shoulder, look them in the eyes and tell them. Let them know what they mean to you, and in return you’ll begin to create the possibility of deeper, richer, more fulfilling relationships with those you love.

Of course, we should do what we can to make the most of the day we call Thanksgiving, but wouldn’t it be a shame if the only time we reflected on our blessings was that one Thursday in November? And the answer is, of course! So let’s do our best to be aware of the many great gifts that we have each and every day of the year. As we do so we will see our hearts soar and our minds more and more at peace as we regularly remember and remain aware of our good fortune.

Now… take a look at Mark Alexander’s excellent essay at Patriot Post’s website: http://patriotpost.us/reference/the-first-thanksgiving The beginning of it is just below…

Thanksgiving, as introduced by European explorers and settlers in the “New World,” was a time set aside specifically for the purpose of giving thanks to our Creator for His manifold blessings.

The earliest record of a thanksgiving in America is 1541 by Spanish explorer Coronado at Palo Duro Canyon in what is now Texas. French Protestant colonists at Charlesfort (now Parris Island, South Carolina) held a thanksgiving service in 1564. In 1607, the Jamestown settlers held thanksgiving at Cape Henry, Virginia, and there are many other records of such hallowed observances.

The first call for an annual Thanksgiving was at Berkeley Plantation, Virginia, in 1619, when Captain John Woodlief and 38 settlers aboard the ship Margaret, proclaimed, “Wee ordaine that the day of our ships arrivall at the place assigned for plantacion in the land of Virginia shall be yearly and perpetually keept holy as a day of thanksgiving to Almighty God.”

The first “harvest feast,” however, was at Plymouth Colony in 1621, followed by a greater combined feast of Thanksgiving in 1623. Due to the fact that most history books following the War Between the States were written by Northern historians, it is that iconic event which is most directly associated with the current traditions for our national Day of Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Quiz

This nation was founded by Christians, and Thanksgiving is a time when we can reflect upon this rich, Christian heritage. This Thanksgiving quiz will test your knowledge about our nation’s biblical foundations. We hope that you will not only take this test and pass it on to others, but we also hope that you will be encouraged to study more about the Christian foundations of this country.

1. What group began the tradition of Thanksgiving?

A day of Thanksgiving was set aside by the Pilgrims who founded Plymouth Colony. This colony was the first permanent settlement in New England. The Pilgrims were originally known as the Forefathers or Founders. The term Pilgrim was first used in the writings of colonist William Bradford and is now used to designate them.

2. Why did they celebrate Thanksgiving?

Life was hard in the New World. Out of 103 Pilgrims, 51 of these died in the first terrible winter. After the first harvest was completed, Governor William Bradford proclaimed a day of Thanksgiving and prayer. By 1623, a day of fasting and prayer during a period of drought was changed to one of Thanksgiving because the rain came during their prayers. The custom prevailed in New England and eventually became a national holiday.

3. When did Thanksgiving become a national holiday?

The state of New York adopted Thanksgiving Day as an annual custom in 1817. By the time of the Civil War, many other states had done the same. In 1863 President Abraham Lincoln appointed a day of Thanksgiving. Since then, each president has issued a Thanksgiving Day proclamation for the fourth Thursday of November.

4. Why did the Pilgrims leave Europe?

Among the early Pilgrims was a group of Separatists who were members of a religious movement that broke from the Church of England during the 16th and 17th centuries. In 1606 William Brewster led a group of Separatists to Leiden (in the Netherlands) to escape religious persecution in England. After living in Leiden for more than ten years, some members of the group voted to emigrate to America. The voyage was financed by a group of London investors who were promised produce from America in exchange for their assistance.

5. How did the Pilgrims emigrate to the New World?

On September 16, 1620, a group numbering 102 men, women, and children left Plymouth, England, for America on the Mayflower. Having been blown off course from their intended landing in Virginia by a terrible storm, the Pilgrims landed at Cape Cod on November 11. On December 21, they landed on the site of Plymouth Colony. While still on the ship, the Pilgrims signed the Mayflower Compact.

6. What is the Mayflower Compact?

On November 11, 1620, Governor William Bradford and the leaders upon the Mayflower signed the Mayflower Compact before setting foot on land. They wanted to acknowledge God’s sovereignty in their lives and their need to obey Him. The Mayflower Compact was America’s first great constitutional document and is often called “The American Covenant.”

7. What is the significance of the Mayflower Compact?

We all know that there’s hardly a person in the literate world today who hasn’t been at least a bit confused by all the conflicting opinions about “global warming,” “climate change, “carbon emissions” and all the hullabaloo raised in the media and politics about this topic. It certainly has a bearing on everyone including followers of Christ. And frankly, the serious tone that is often presented can be a real “downer” for any of us who are trying to keep an optimistic and positive attitude. And I know we can get deep in all the boring science that 90% of people have difficulty grasping, but why not have a simple, down-to-earth way to make people think how utterly ridiculous the whole controversy really is?

Here’s a one minute attempt to do just that…

In any significant battle between nature and people guess who wins?

Professor Ian Plimer could not have said it better!

If you’ve read his book you will agree, this is a good summary.

What Effect Did Iceland’s 2011 Volcanic Event Do to our Climate Change Recovery Efforts?

The volcanic eruption in Iceland, since its first spewing of volcanic ash has, in just FOUR DAYS, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet – all of you.

Of course you know about this evil carbon dioxide that we are trying to suppress – it’s that vital chemical compound that every plant requires to live and grow, and to synthesize into oxygen for us humans, and all animal life.

I know, it’s very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of: driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up till midnight to finish your kid’s “The Green Revolution” science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, vacationing at home instead of abroad, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your 50 cents light bulbs with $10.00 light bulbs…well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just four days.

The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth’s atmosphere in just four days – yes – FOUR DAYS ONLY by that volcano in Iceland, has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon. And there are around 200 active volcanoes on the planet spewing out this crud at any one time – EVERY DAY.

I don’t really want to rain on your parade too much, but I should mention that when the volcano Mt Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in its entire YEARS on earth. Yes folks, Mt Pinatubo was active for over one year – think about it.

Of course I shouldn’t spoil this touchy-feely tree-hugging moment and mention the effect of solar and cosmic activity and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keep happening, despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect climate change.

And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud but the fact of the matter is that the bush fire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years. And it happens every year.

Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you on the basis of the bogus “human-caused” climate change scenario.

Isn’t it interesting how they don’t mention “Global Warming” any more, but just “Climate Change” – you know why? It’s because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming bull artists got caught with their pants down.

And just keep in mind that you might yet have an Emissions Trading Scheme – that whopping new tax – imposed on you, that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer. It won’t stop any volcanoes from erupting, that’s for sure.

But hey, relax, give the world a hug and have a nice day!

“Without a clear understanding of the beginnings of something, you cannot understand it’s purpose. Without a clear understanding of purpose, you cannot fully realize the truth of your legacy.”

Over 3 decades ago the truth of Isaiah 58:10-12 really hit me. If you read it I’m sure it has been deeply meaningful in your own life. The ‘fast’ that God chooses for us is to essentially set other people free to live the life their Creator desires for them. Only the truth can do that.

A few years ago I was gripped by the concept of ‘legacy’ and how our generation seems to have lost the sense of being a bridge from the heritage of our past to the divinely intended destiny of our posterity’s future. That’s where your sense of legacy connects with so many truths that have been distorted by many influences in modern culture.

My heart resonates with the principles of Legacy summarized by the respected business trainer Jim Rohn. He wrote:

“…actions are great, but the important stuff is what lies underneath—the principles. Here are what I consider to be the principles that we must commit to if we are to leave the legacy we desire:

Life is best lived in service to others. This doesn’t mean that we do not strive for the best for ourselves. It does mean that in all things we serve other people, including our family, co-workers and friends.

Consider others’ interests as important as your own. Much of the world suffers simply because people consider only their own interests. People are looking out for No. 1, but the way to leave a legacy is to also look out for others.

Love your neighbor even if you don’t like him. It is interesting that Jesus told us to love others. But he never tells us to like them. Liking people has to do with emotions. Loving people has to do with actions. And what you will find is that when you love them and do good by them, you will more often than not begin to like them.

Maintain integrity at all costs. There are very few things you take to the grave with you. The Number One thing is your reputation and good name. When people remember you, you want them to think, “She was the most honest person I knew. What integrity.” There are always going to be temptations to cut corners and break your integrity. Do not do it. Do what is right all of the time, no matter what the cost.

You must risk in order to gain. In just about every area of life you must risk in order to gain the reward. In love, you must risk rejection in order to ask that person out for the first time. In investing, you must place your capital at risk in the market in order to receive the prize of a growing bank account. When we risk, we gain. And when we gain, we have more to leave for others.

You reap what you sow. In fact, you always reap more than you sow—you plant a seed and reap a bushel. What you give you get. What you put into the ground then grows out of the ground. If you give love, you will receive love. If you give time, you will gain time. It is one of the truest laws of the universe. Decide what you want out of life and then begin to sow it.

Hard work is never a waste. No one will say, “It is too bad he was such a good, hard worker.” But if you aren’t they will surely say, “It’s too bad he was so lazy—he could have been so much more!” Hard work will leave a grand legacy. Give it your all on your trip around the earth. You will do a lot of good and leave a terrific legacy.

Don’t give up when you fail. Imagine what legacies would have never existed if someone had given up. How many thriving businesses would have been shut down if they quit at their first failure? Everyone fails. It is a fact of life. But those who succeed are those who do not give up when they fail. They keep going and build a successful life—and a legacy.

Don’t ever stop in your pursuit of a legacy. Many people have accomplished tremendous things later on in life. There is never a time to stop in your pursuit of a legacy. Sometimes older people will say, “I am 65. I’ll never change.” That won’t build a great life! No, there is always time to do more and achieve more, to help more and serve more, to teach more and to learn more. Keep going and growing that legacy!

These are core principles to live by if you want to become the kind of person who leaves a lasting legacy.”

This article is excerpted from Jim Rohn’s Twelfth Pillar of Success: Legacy, part two of The Jim Rohn One-Year Success Plan.

Think of the joy of helping people, young and old, to apply these timeless principles into their lives while discovering the truths that set them free in some of the most practical areas of modern life!

You have probably seen evolutionary charts like this… but you might not have seen how to expose the faulty arguments behind them. Those arguments have deceived many students into thinking the Genesis record is unscientific. In reality, all a person has to do is ask some logical questions to reveal the utter foolishness of evolutionary assumptions.

You’ve heard educated evolutionists insist that it took a loooooong time… and that it was undirected by a Designer or God so it all happened by random chance… and of course, simple things got more complex - that’s evolution in a nutshell isn’t it?

Did you get that? The 3 absurd assumptions of evolution we’re talking about here are:

Extraordinary Time

Random Chance

Increasing complexity

Don’t forget this key piece of the discussion.

The two major evolutionary fallacies that are required to get us to this point are covered in another chapter or article. What are they? They are the absurd answers given by evolutionists to the questions: “how did the universe get here?” and “where did life come from?” You’ve heard those answers I’m sure. Here they are:

The Big Bang

Spontaneous Generation

And don’t forget the simple questions you can use to reveal the ‘emptiness’ of those two supposed ‘scientific’ causes for the two most significant ‘effects’ that can lead anyone to a realization that there has to be a Creator.

#1 – Did you ever see an explosion cause an increase in the orderliness and complexity of anything?

#2 – Can you even imagine how to put life into chemicals, even if they are cleverly arranged into all the organs and systems of a now-dead corpse?

What’s really at the bottom of evolution teaching?

What is seldom mentioned to unwary and impressionable young students today is that evolutionists believe in bigger miracles than Christians ever dreamed of. They even admit it on occasion. And the reason their misguided faith is really nothing less than sheer gullibility is because their miracles had no adequate cause to perform them. Nature and common sense demonstrate scientifically that any result or ‘effect’ requires an adequate cause. By definition, the Creator of the universe that exists independent of natural substances is the only adequate “cause” for the universe and life.

But, evolutionists are religiously committed to their insane ‘faith’ because they don’t want to acknowledge the reality of their Creator. Don’t forget that. That’s why the apostle Paul says in his letter to the Roman Christians in the first century: “..just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind…” (Romans 1:28).

Answering the Evolutionist Arguments

So how do we expose the 3 absurd assumptions of evolution? And do it in a gracious and sensible way?

We go into a lot of colorful and fascinating background detail in my book, “Unlocking the Mysteries of Creation,” but let’s keep this as simple as possible. Here’s the bottom line.

Time

Does Time (millions and billions of years of it) provide a solution to evolution’s impossible dream? Even if there really had been millions of years of existence for all of creation, there’s one thing we absolutely know about the effects of time. Just ask the question: “have you ever heard of the second law of thermodynamics?” All processes in nature are bound by this law. What happens to any natural object or system as you watch it exist for a long time? It degrades. It wears out. It falls apart. It deteriorates. It follows the law of what is called “increasing Entropy.” Evolutionists insist there ‘must be’ a natural way for the nagging problem of entropy to be overcome. They just don’t want to face the music that only a miracle-working Creator is capable of creating a perfect world or restoring a fallen one in a “new heaven and new earth.”

Chance

What are the chances of producing orderly sequences of understandable information and systems randomly? In their assertion that random chance is capable of evolving higher forms of life (or any kind of first life for that matter) evolutionists ignore a mountain of evidence. It’s called “mathematical probability statistics.” With modern analytical equipment we now know how extraordinarily complex living systems really are. We now have no scientific excuse for believing in naturalistic evolution. Ask, “What are the chances of letting random accidental processes produce even a simple system of information?” Evidence of design should logically cause us to look for a designer. To the evolutionist’s shame, he refuses to “allow a Divine foot in the door” no matter how ridiculous are his ideas about how intricately designed living beings came to be.

Increasing Complexity

When someone insists that random genetic mutations and natural selection are the process of evolving from ‘Goo’ to You by way of the zoo, you might want to ask them a question or two. Have you seen what mutations really produce? They are not pretty. Thankfully they are rare. In 5,000 years we’ve never scientifically seen what is agreed by everyone to be a single positive genetic mutation. It’s clear there isn’t enough time for mutations to do their ‘magic’ even if you had billions of billions of years to arrive at a world full of amazing creatures. How do you produce a system like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly by way of random mutations? And when you consider that ‘natural selection’ is only capable of eliminating unfit offspring (the so-called “survival of the fittest”), it says nothing about the ‘arrival of the fittest’ in the first place. You can’t get “more information” from “less information.” Someone with intelligence and a high degree of technical skill has to ‘engineer’ biologically increasing complexity. To believe that bacteria evolved into worms and worms evolved into reptiles and reptiles evolved into birds (and eventually man) is not supported by ANY facts of science.

Evolution is a belief system that is totally devoid of scientific support. Those who insist on it are doing so only because they choose to reject the Creator. Typically, they have distorted concepts about God and some kind of attitude that resists acknowledging their personal accountability for their actions.

So why do so many people choose to believe in evolution?

The apostle Paul spelled it out very plainly in a prophetic word about the future that applies very well to what we see going on right before our eyes today. In Paul’s second letter to the Christian believers in Thessalonica (2 Thes. 2:10-12)

“…because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

Would you say that the belief in evolution qualifies for “a lie” that condemns them to their own just outcome if they choose to reject the truth of God?

By Dennis Petersen — “Can you really trust the whole Bible to be true?”

A truly lasting legacy is the confidence you have in the truth you know and your courage to walk it and talk it. So what does Genesis and God’s account of creation have to strengthen our faith in God today?

A vital weapon in our spiritual arsenal is the waste-belt of Truth (Ephesians 6:14) but it takes work to obtain it and more work to maintain it in the face of popular deceptions. We know the world is super confused. People are anxious about daily challenges. Do we really need to help them deliberately seek and gain the truth?

Remember that Jesus said, “if they do not believe Moses and the prophets, neither will they believe even if someone were raised from the dead.” (Luke 16:31) Since Moses wrote the Genesis account of creation, do you suppose the truth of it will be deceptively distorted?

What are some Bible texts that remind you of the controversy over the truth?

- 2Timothy 4:4 “And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”

- 2Timothy 3:7 “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

- 2Timothy 2:25 “In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth…”

- 2Thessalonians 2:10, 12 “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. …That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

In my book, Unlocking the Mysteries of Creation, there are some profound statements about the Bible being trustworthy for our rock solid foundation in the truth. But that truth is indelibly tied to real history and real observable evidence… That’s why I keep pounding on the Biblical concept of “prove all things.”

Why are topics like creation and the flood really important for people to reclaim their Godly legacy now? Probably no other Biblical writer says it better than the apostle Peter. In 2Peter 3:3 he says: “…knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, ‘Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.’ For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.”

Surprising to many of us who have been programmed all our lives to believe in evolution’s mythical millions of years-long fairy tale, the facts actually reveal that the universal use of a 7-day week is tied to the reality of the literal seven days of the creation week that actually happened less than seven thousand years ago.

“Oh, come on… you can’t be serious.” (I can just hear some people reacting now.) But what if I could show you – really show you graphically – all sorts or factual reasons why the Bible makes more sense on this than the modern myth of evolution as declared by all those who spurn the truth of Genesis? Will you take me up on it?

Well, let me direct you to the video version of the slide show “When Did It All Begin.” It’s the lead listing in a new web resource at: www.FreeCreationVideos.com. And when you share this link to my free videos website I’ll send you a powerful new eBook at no cost: “Is the Bible Really without Any Errors?”

I promise you… when you get your mind around this one and really satisfy your determined questions about when it all began… you’ll know more than most college professors ever dreamed could demolish their empty arguments for myths like the dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago and all the rest of that evolutionary make-believe.

Yes, the evidence abundantly agrees with the truth of Bible history, right from the first verse.

In six days God created the heavens, the earth and the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.

Prepare yourself for some major ‘renewing of your mind’ as you ‘prove all things.’ Go now to www.FreeCreationVideos.com .

Dear Friend,

“I believe there is a day coming in 2011 that will change your life in ways you can’t even begin to imagine right now.”

Just in case you still know someone who believes there is an “economic recovery” happening as touted by the mainstream financial media, you should check out Porter Stansberry’s End of America video, where he makes a compelling case that inflation is already here, and hyperinflation, severe social unrest, and government imposed financial restrictions are just around the corner.

This straightforward slide show presentation (below) by the founder of a successful financial research company confirms all the other reports I’ve read recently and puts the message in terms that convey what makes real sense.

As he says, “…most Americans will not know what to do when commodity prices – things like milk, bread and gasoline – soar. They won’t know what to do when banks close… and their credit cards stop working. Or when they’re not allowed to buy gold or foreign currencies. Or when food stamps fail…
In short, our way of life in America is about to change – I promise you. In this letter I’ll show you exactly what is happening.”

I’ve taught for decades the scriptural observation that “my people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge.” What is really sad is that there are so many who will not bother to get educated about basic economics enough to realize the cause and effect reality that is confirmed by history and is about to change our world more radically than a 9/11 attack or a hurricane Katrina.

Please click on this link or the link below to watch and hear the slide presentation that could literally save your financial future if you’re willing to take serious actions. And if you can’t listen now… put it on your calendar to listen in the next two days and save this letter where you can not miss it.

You will appreciate the fact that you have been pointed to this information while 95% of the people around you every day don’t have a clue where to turn when things begin to get really desperate in the next few months.

In the next few weeks I will be referring you to valuable resource connections that will give you insights you will need to know about the economic decisions you will be making in the near future .

Every once in a while (like daily) we need to be reminded that our life is brief and must be kept in the perspective of the generations to come.

I’ve decided that nothing is going to keep me from doing my very best to spend time with my grand children. God only knows what good investments of my time, joy and instruction will have a deep impact on their choices and decisions for decades to come. Since I did not have the privilege of really getting to know either of my grand fathers (my closest one died when I was only two), and had little interaction with my father while growing up, I absolutely delight to play games, read stories, and go on outings with my grand kids whenever we can be together. Thank you Lord for the blessing of enjoying a glimpse of the delight you must have with your own children.

What is our legacy?

“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous.” Prov. 13:22

“We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments; and that they should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not steadfast, whose spirit was not faithful to God.”

What do you think of when you hear the word? If I were to ask you, “What do you think is your legacy?” what would you tell me? Is it the economic ‘inheritance’ you leave to your family? Is it some of the intangible qualities of your life that you think others might remember you for? For some, it might be a tradition or an institution that was shaped by their participation. Whatever it is, it’s made up of lots of things that cross the ‘bridge’ of your life from all that went into your heritage to all that is received by your posterity (the next generation). Is it something worth consciously reclaiming?

I believe a true ‘legacy’ is built on the foundation of truth itself and supports several essential ‘pillars’ that leave an undeniable benefit for those who follow your lead. At least five major principles of life contribute to our legacy and they each strengthen one another.

Five Major Principles of Legacy

Character grows from the seedbed of truth and inevitably stirs our desire to pass along what we’ve learned through the education of others.

Education is a life-long process of increasing transformation out of darkness into light. One of the most primary domains of education surrounds all the aspects of what constitutes our health and wellness, both materially and spiritually.

Health and Wellness enables us to be creative and productive so we can generate varying manifestations of wealth that can affect generations to come.

Wealth is a powerful tool that enables us to influence others. When grounded in God and truth your wealth must be cherished as a ‘trust’ that is managed with God’s kingdom purposes in mind.

Influence is enabled by all the previous ‘pillars’ that Providence has built into our lives and should clearly be an effective ‘platform’ to establish a society-wide acknowledgment of the truth that is constantly at war with the deceptions and darkness that constantly tries to hide it.

Pop Culture has Obscured Legacy Consciousness

Looking at our culture and our generation today, everywhere I turn I see deception and distortion in all the areas of our legacy. Truth is thought by many to be ambiguous, changeable and irrelevant. Character is so compromised that it seems normal when we don’t even trust ourselves. Education is so corrupted and ‘politically correct’ that the basic life skills are marginalized and history is ‘rewritten.’ Health and Wellness is failing badly as nature is ignored in favor of synthetic ‘remedies’ and even synthetic ‘foods.’ Wealth is perverted by forgetting the purpose of it to establish Godly influence in human lives. And influence has become more about ‘buying’ power than leading others to discover the truth.

I believe that we live in a generation that is rediscovering the timeless reality that we all pass on a legacy. Rather than just living day to day for the fleeting pleasures of here and now, a legacy-minded man or woman deliberately considers life as a gift not to be wasted and all these really important things are ‘invested’ in the light of a multi-generational perspective.

The Personal Challenge

Will you be pro-active with your legacy? Will you seek to maximize the influence you will have on your generation by taking the truth to heart and engaging the challenges of a distorted view of these five areas of life? If so, you’re bound to have opportunities to stretch yourself as early as tomorrow. And once you’re stretched you’ll never be the same. The legacy you leave will be increasingly appreciated by those whose lives you influence.

The Biblical Mandate

“We will not conceal them from their children, but tell to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength and His wondrous works that He has done. For He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers that they should teach them to their children, that the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, that they may arise and tell them to their children, that they should put their confidence in God and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments, and not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not prepare its heart and whose spirit was not faithful to God.”

Psalm 78:4-8
